Loft raised / boarded and hatch ladder installation: Getting the surveyor took about 2 weeks, but then once I went ahead with the quote, they were able to come within a week or so to do the work. 2 lovely chaps turned up at 8am, protected the carpeted stairs and went to work. I was originally quoted for a 3 section fold away ladder, but on further inspection the guys said that this wouldn't really fit properly and would leave no head-room climbing into the loft. He suggested a telescopic ladder which would have been £200 extra, however he said he would talk to the office first. They waived the extra cost without me even prompting or asking them to do so, in that sense very good customer service to honour original quote. The guys were done by around midday (here I was expecting an all day job), and even boarded around the hatch itself for more comfortable access. Overall very happy with the results. I never actually got prices for comparison so I can't comment on the value, but the price was around what I was expecting having spoken to other people.
