For a start, there aren't 20 models to choose from - Lupe Technology produce one, and what a one it is! Stick vacuums?... too heavy on the arm if doing a large area. Other floor standing cleaners did not offer the sheer power that the lupe provides. In terms of sheer power it's above anything I could find. And that's the seller for me - I don't want to go back and forth fifty times to clean a spot. And when I do go over it, I want to know that pretty much everything has ben picked up. I did the typical challenge whereby I vacuumed my carpets with my previous cleaner, the day before my lupe arrived. On visible inspection you would say my carpets were clean. lupe vacuum disagreed. Some additional pet hairs were picked up and what I can only describe as cup-fulls of sand/grit material. This cleaner picks it up. House is feeling noticeably fresher. Yes, the cleaner isn't cheap - but I feel anything else is a false economy if you need to spend twice as much time doing this task. It is well designed, looks great, has everything you need on the cleaner. All components are easy to access (battery, brush bar etc). The battery houses a decent duration (easily 40 minutes on normal power), which given the efficiency is more than enough.
