I have only had my Lupe for a week and it has been very impressive in it’s versatility and cleaning power. I thought my old Hoover Pet Pro vacuum was picking up a lot of cat hair (literally canisters full), until I ran this little sucker across my freshly vacuumed carpets. Literally packed the entire canister with each room I vacuumed. This little puppy picks up everything on the first pass, even with the power on the lowest setting. I also have not had an issue pushing it on carpet as some other reviewers had suggested.
The battery life is great. After I full charge I managed to go over my whole carpeted house only using about 25% charge with the low power setting. The engine dust filter is miles above any other vacuum I have used in terms of practical cleanability and functionality, which is a huge plus. And speaking of practicality, this thing stands upright like a champ for having such a flexible design. Even my toddlers messing with wasn’t knocking it down.
I did have a few qualms with the device though, all convenience related. The power button has the slightest play in it with a decently long spring mechanism, so that if you don’t give it a real good firm push straight on, it won’t trigger and the vacuum won’t turn on.
Also, a minor gripe, when I push the release button on the waste canister the bottom flap will still stay caught on the release catch until I physically pull on the flap. Annoying - as I would expect the release button to have that extra 1mm to allow the bottom flap to freely fall out and not force me to goober my hand in all the falling debris.
Similarly, the catch to re-engage the waste canister into the vacuum is so precisely fitted, that it requires two hands to push from both sides to ensure proper alignment and pressure to get it clicked in just right. With a small waste container, these two inconvienence factors start to get annoying quickly when vacuuming anything more than a Cheerios spill.
My last gripe is that there is no memory on the suction or brushroll settings. Everytime you turn the vacuum on, the brushroll will always be on and the suction will always be at medium. Somewhat annoying considering that the manufacturer suggests being at low or “Eco” power settings. With this being a battery powered vacuum, my brain is conditioned to turn it off at any point I may not be actively vacuuming during a session because I know how much power a vacuum draws and I am not a huge fan of waiting on batteries to charge.
But even with these minor engineering flaws, this vacuum is still 100% worth it for it’s ability to clean and adapt to any situation. The customer support team was extremely responsive when I had a question regarding shipping, and they kept me up to date the entire time when they had delays. And delays are understandable in a small business that is attempting to scale up. I think if they could get the price point down to about $450 USD then this vacuum would be a worldwide market dominating success, but it is still quite expensive as it is now. Maybe that price is because this is the only vacuum on the market that looks sexier than a Dyson.
