My experience with Metcalfs started off good as they managed to find me a buyer quickly and for the asking price. They also sold the buyers property quickly as well. I had been trying to sell mine for 5 years. A couple of weeks later they put me under pressure to find another house saying that the buyers were getting anxious. When I finally found a house, they started bullying me into moving into the new house before I had bought it and gave me two moving in dates. Almost every day the manager has been phoning me with stupid ideas that he wanted me to do to get out and into the new house. The vendor of the house has been advised not to let me in until completion. My solicitor has advised me not to move until completion as well, but still I get harrassed by the estate agent with dodgy ideas about moving. He suggested I move into a hotel until completion and let the buyers move in, or, I LIVE WITH THE BUYERS in my house until completion, or, i give the vendor of the new house money to let me live there and not tell the solicitor, or, I let the buyer just move there furniture in to my house. Every day I get some more stupid ideas from him. If I say I am refusing to do any of his suggestions he says I will lose my buyers. He tells me to ignore my solicitors advice, and to make deals with the owner of the new house, which I don't. He tries to bully me, the vendor of new house, and he is NOT the estate agent! and the solicitors! It is going to take a few more weeks until completion, so I have decided to listen to the solicitor not the E.A. I have NEVER heard of any one moving in before they own a property, unless renting of course, or of any E.A. suggesting the things he has. I am sure some of them are illegal. Metcalfs have been selling properties for years and until the current manager moved in I had never heard any one have trouble with them. Beware! THIS could happen to you if you are slow to find another property.
