Day and Time the incident happened, 25/07/2024 Between 9:30 am and 11am.
On 25/07/2024 I went to Sainsbury's at Ladbroke Grove and bought a hot espresso. ( as you may know, Costa has a self-serve coffee machine inside Sainsbury.) I didn't get the receipt I headed to the exit door without a receipt. At the exit door, I was aggressively stopped and humiliated by the security guard named Micheal. Micheal accused me of not paying for the espresso. Even after the employee at the self-checkout confirmed he saw me paying, Micheal kept on pointing his fingers at my face aggressively saying I didn't pay. Later the manager was called, checked the CCTV, and confirmed I had paid. Michael the security guard employed by Mitie was very aggressive. He refused to check the CCTV footage until the manager arrived. He was yelling at me and humiliating me in front of the public saying I didn't pay. The humiliation I felt was too much to put into words. I suffer from severe PTSD the incident has caused me so much trauma. All he could have done was check the CCTV footage but he kept on humiliating me in front of the public, falsely accusing me of theft. The store manager later apologized insincerely. Micheal, the aggressive security didn't apologize. He was watching me angrily as I left the store.
I have submitted a formal complaint email to Mitie and I am waiting for their response.
I Will never shop at Sainsbury ever again after this horrid experience! , Micheal needs serious retraining. He thinks he is entitled to profile, harass, and humiliate customers as he wishes. Shame on Sainsbury's for allowing such a bully to work for them!
