You could spend a whole lot of time and effort and assemble everything in any one of these My Medic kits and probably save a few bucks....but you won't ever get around to doing it and for sure you would end up with the whole pile taking up twice the space as do the tightly packed kits. The kits themselves range from sandwich-sized carry-anywhere packs, that you'd be glad to have if needed, but, not surprisingly, cannot take on a major injury, to backpack-sized units that set you up as walking MASH unit. Be reasonable and buy what you are or could be trained to used, or maybe a tad more. Lastly, it is important to note that these people making these kits care about what they are doing, and they may literally have your back....or your broken finger...or your accidental knife cut..or your skateboarding snafu. So you cannot go wrong getting at least one of the smaller kits for being outdoors and a larger one to replace that useless cookie tin of bandaids that you otherwise have in your car. Do it for yourself and for those who depend on you. [I bought such sets for everyone in my grown family!]
