If I could leave no stars forHermes, I would. Here is my complaint: I have had extremely disappointing service from our local Hermes delivery rep. Last month I was expecting a sewing machine (value £259) to be delivered to me, but it never arrived. A week later, I contacted the shop which sent me the sewing machine, and they said, according to their information, the machine had been delivered to me the previous day. I eventually found out the ‘deliverer’ was the Hermes rep for our area. She admitted she had delivered the machine package and said that ‘she had left it on the front doorstep of our house as she thought she heard footsteps in the house’!! In fact we were out at the time. No advance notice was sent about the delivery, no note was left at the house to say it had been delivered and no photograph taken, and the sewing machine was stolen. I have been unable to make any contact with a Hermes office in my area or elsewhere to report this. We have observed, heard from others, and indeed had previous experience ourselves, that this Hermes rep, on getting no immediate answer to her knock or doorbell ring, deposits the item on the doorstep and leaves the premises - I have observed her driving away before I can open the front door. There is no evidence to show she tries to hand the article to the recipient. She makes no attempt to leave the item where it can’t be seen. This Hermes Rep must be taken in hand, and told that when there is no answer when she calls at premises to deliver an item, she must find a safe and secure way by either taking the item back to her depot after leaving a note for the addressee about her actions, or delivering the item to a neighbour and leaving a note for the addressee explaining her actions. Her attitude is deplorable and dishonest. I would like to add that I have tried to contact Hermes at the Hermes support email address - hermessupport@myhermes.co.uk but when I try to send it, I am told that the email address given is invalid. I have also tried to contact the Head CEO of Hermes, and the UK CEO of Hermes, but apparently the email addresses given are invalid for these also.
