Hermes delivered a 2.5 ltr can of paint which was damaged in transit, and when the package was opened, the paint ran out destroying a table cover. I contacted Hermes, sent 'photos of the damage and delivery label, and requested to be reimbursed for the cost of replacement tablecloth, an invoice was enclosed. The interesting thing is that paint is one of the many items banned by Hermes and yet they accepted it for delivery. They have refused to accept responsibility for causing the damage
I did not receive this parcel from the driver, who left it outside my front door, but did not leave a note in my letter box. Had I been able to inspect the parcel I would have seen the damage and refused the delivery.
So in summation, Hermes delivered an item which was banned by them, damaged it during transit, and then refused to pay any compensation. No much else one can say ! Graham Sanders
