I really couldn't believe what happened with Hermes when I ordered a parcel from the Netherlands. The tracking which began in the Netherlands went well when it was handled by a courier in the Netherlands. Things only went hopelessly wrong when Hermes got a hold of it. The tracking from Hermes stated they had got it on 25th November last year. However, they subsequently advised that they were having trouble finding my address. This was despite my address being shown in full and quite clearly on the parcel - the sender emailed me a copy of his computer-written details. I was asked to help, so I emailed their 'helpline' to confirm my address and I added details which would have enabled anyone to find me. On 30th November, Hermes sent an advice saying 'WE'VE GOT IT!' and on the same day they told me 'YOUR PARCEL IS BEING RETURNED TO THE SENDER'. It was subsequently delivered back to the sender in Joure, Netherlands and I had to pay another courier firm almost £60.00 to deliver my parcel. True, that was very expensive, but at least I received my item without any of the Hermes nonsense.
