I could tell you, at length, about Hermes and their fifth-rate service.
I could tell you about missing parcels, parcels slung over walls, parcels I signed for...despite being three-hundreds miles away at the time, I could even tell you about my local Hermes driver, who keeps parcels in his garage until he has enough to "make it worth his while" visiting smaller villages such as mine.
But I don't want to talk about that today, I'd like to discuss "the hole".
I first noticed "the hole" about a year ago, in the packaging for some things I'd ordered from eBay. The seller had reused the cardboard box from a laptop, and the item inside was quite heavy, so there was the hole, about an inch in diameter and seemingly made in an effort to find out what was in the parcel.
Since then I've noticed "the hole" quite a lot, always in larger parcels, seemingly in an attempt to see if the contents are worth "losing" on their way to me.
I have had several parcels "lost" by Hermes, strangely they are always larger, more expensive items, and electronic goods have a particularly high chance of becoming "lost".
In an effort to find out where my "lost" parcels are going I am going to start sending myself parcels containing gps tracking devices.
Updates to follow.
