Hermes is the absolute worst of the lot.
I've never had a parcel delivered by Hermes without a hassle – and several haven't been delivered at all. Just to begin with, there are no options to rearrange another day for delivery so we're at the mercy of random materialisations. Then it gets sent back to the seller after 3 'tries'. FFS. Meanwhile, the humble Post Office & Royal Mail will hold something for three weeks, and also allow customers to book a new delivery date.
Due to these difficulties, I then decided to select the option for delivery at a local shop that's open 7am to 11pm, seven days a week – but Hermes couldn't even manage that. This was sent back after 3 'tries' at the shop.
And today I had an email notification that my parcel had been delivered through my letterbox, while I was at home waiting for the delivery. No sign of anything through the door, and I checked on both sides of it. The alleged proof was a blurry photo that looked like nothing in particular. The door number was not visible, neither was the door!
It's reached the point where I will simply not deal with companies using Hermes – and I let them know about it.
