I am absolutely furious. Having used Hermes on numerous occasions they have let me down so very badly and unbeknown to me the problem has been ongoing for many deliveries at this particular address. However on this latest consignment the delivery has gone very badly wrong. The package was found thrown over the garden fence in the pouring rain, according to the tracking at 12.02pm. It was picked up at 17.20pm, some five plus hours later. There was someone in the property at the time but no attempt had been made to alert the occupier and no notification, i.e. card, was left or made, even though a phone number had been logged for alert. This package contained expensive literary items and while sufficiently wrapped, in the constant pouring rain seeping through ruined them. I later learnt deliveries had been left at this particular address in the same manner but I had remained uninformed of the situation. This consignment has left me in no doubt Hermes have a real problem with their delivery drivers and needs urgent investigation. While insurance cover was paid, (at extra charge) it in no way replaces the damaged items. Regardless of the Coronavirus state, with no signature being required they are allowed to get away with this. It has to STOP now. Damage limitation of apologies is NOT enough.
