I don't normally write reviews but on this occasion I had too.
The one star is only because it won't let me leave a review without a star.
We purchased a black 3 & 2 leather electric seater on the 11/9/23 which was due to arrive on 5/1/24. I received an email the 2/1/24 saying only 1 item would arrived & the other item would need rebooked. I phoned customer services & the guy was so rude to me, asking did I want it or did I want to cancel it. I went directly to the store & spoke with the manager who said I should have been offered a compromise like a different date that both items would arrive. So I spoke again to customer services & we agreed on the 2 items arriving on the 5th April. On the 1st of April I rang the store to make sure the 5th was my date for delivery of which I was told "I'm sorry but only 1 item would be arriving". I couldn't believe this was still dragging on 7 months later. On this call I was given assurance that both items would arrive on the 17th April so I agreed to wait. On the 16th Apr I received another email saying only 1 item would arrive & the other one would need rebooked. By this stage we had, had enough. We decided to ring & cancel our order. Of course we got the whole, were really sorry this has happened. If you would be happy to wait to July both sofas would arrive together. Were they serious.! Also said if we were happy to take it in the grey we could have it sooner. We declined & said we were cancelling our order & asked for our deposit back. It eventually was returned to our acc after a good few phone calls.
Our bill would have been over £3,000 which they lost out on. £99.99 of that was for our 2 items to be delivered took indoors & set up as it was electric. The Premium Delivery it was called. Another £282.99 was for 5 year accidental & structural protection.
I will NEVER purchase another item from this store. Bad service all round from start to finish.
While I was there, my daughter wanted to purchase a mirror which was in the sale & was told all deliveries are to the customers home & there's a £9.99 delivery charge for the mirror. She didn't purchase it after that.
On the 22/4/24 I purchased a 3&2 electric sofas from Whytes in Crossgar & the arrived (10 days after purchase) 2/5/24 they were also delivered & put together for just £20. So where do oak furnitureland get their prices from, charging customers £99.99 for the same job.? My items from Whytes was also half the price of what oak furnitureland was.
I definitely won't be buying again from OAK FURNITURELAND.
