I ordered the Roman range desk and bookcase on line after several calls to customer services about shade etc during COVID. When it came it wasn't as we had discussed but I appreciate that colour is not the same to everyone and it was acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was the horrendous delivery men who lit up a cigarette as soon as he got out the van and moaned about the size of the items I had ordered. I unpacked the items and seen that there were faults with both items.
Desk- cracked paint, cracked wood, dodgy hinges and drawers that don't open and close properly.
Bookcase - Holes inside that looked as if they hadn't been finished doff properly.
On top of that the items looked cheap and poorly made. It was at this point that I had several conversation with customer service whereby I was ASSURED that the items were solid oak when I questioned the quality. Having had enough I decided to email the CEO office.....safe to say that was worse. I received a call from a woman in customer relations who again ASSURED me the items were sold oak. I had to send in photos of the problems and I could either return the items or choose another range....My problem was the other ranges didn't fit. Still not convinced at the quality I called a store and was told instantly that the items weren't oak they were painted hardwood !!! That in itself isn't a problem..... however customer service and customer relations staff not knowing is a problem.
As the other ranges didn't fit I agreed that I would have the desk replaced but this didn't deal with the issue of the holes in the bookcase. Again, customer relations had no idea.....even to the point that they told me Quality Control had looked at one and it didn't have holes so mine must be faulty. it took them 4 days to come back with that information. I got a picture online, zoomed in and could clearly see the holes. Again I called a store and instantly they stated that it was so you could move the shelves.....they did however agree that there was nothing online or in the installation manual stating this.
The person I was dealing with in customer relations then got someone else to call me and refused to take my calls. Very poor display of service from a CEO office. Replacement desk will not be delivered for 14 weeks and no refund allowed for the poor quality of the bookcase or for the appalling service that I have received.
If you are looking for quality DO NOT buy this range. I have bought from OFL in the past and been happy with the products and service but they are definitely going downhill in both areas. I won't be back.
