This is about the new night sleeper train only - we've travelled with oebb many times and have loved the trains. Took the new double-decker night sleeper from Vienna-Zurich and it was AWFUL! So cramped we had claustrophobia - no-where to stand up unless we put our overnight cases on the bunks and we couldn't sit on the lower bunk as the upper bunk was below head-height. There was only one tiny wooden slide-out step under the lower bunk to help you get into the upper bunk. I'm 66 and my partner is 74 and neither of us could get in easily - I hurt my back doing so. We love sleeper trains and have done loads of them, but this much-anticipated journey was a nightmare. Breakfast was good though and delivered to our cabin, and the upper bunk was put away so we could sit down on the lower bunk. Be very careful about booking this if you like a bit of space around you... if you can afford it book a single cabin as that would work but it would be very costly.
