Marco is a fantastic guide and is so knowledgeable about wine and food pairings. we ended up doing 2 different tours with him - one to a private winery where we toured the winery then had a wine and food pairing lunch - the wine was amazing and the food was even better. Best yet, the owners dined with us - it felt just like a family dinner. The food was all of the wife's home made recipes and each course paired with one of their selections, complete with digestivos afterwards. Our second trip was a tour of the Jewish Ghetto and Trestevere district. We had 5 stops with food and wine parings and a tour that took us to each stop with history and explanations of what we were walking past, through and around. Again, Marco showed us his incredible depth of knowledge. We learned so much about the short walk we took to get to each stop and then, while we sat and dined, we also learned about the different regions where the wines originated. It was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend any of the tours that Marco and Off the Vine Tours offers.
