I was a bit lost in the beginning as to where to start and how to chart my way around. But since then- after sampling a bunch of classes as other members recommended- I have come to treat OSPro as a massive research station with testing quarters. While I am still trying to figure out my musical goals, I can learn different techniques and skills from various teachers and other members then try what I have learned in my playing and post them for comments. While the members are mostly appreciative of my posts and comments are postivie, there have been some constructive suggestions over the past 2 years I have been posting, and I am grateful fot the time and the trouble the members and the teachers take to comment. I have learned a lot from all the suggestions. Besides the tremendous resources available at OSPro, I LOVE the community. I have been able to form a small group of Practice Buddies across 4 different time zones via Zoom and every Sunday morning 3-5 of us meet and practice for an hour together and catch up on our latest projects. I have also hosted a gathering when an OSpro member visited San Fran area and had a chance to meet the local members. We are planning another gathering when Chela Wallace comes to visit and stay at my house in April. I feel very invested in not only my own progress but also in other friends I have made at OSPro. One of the most gratifying aspects of being at OSPro is after I post something, I wake up to find comments from some far-away places. Sometimes just a few words like "Hey, this is really beautiful and it made my day!". To share something across the universe with strangers with similar goals and add some beauty to their days inspire me to keep working and get better!
