I was very nervous, but was re-assured at the initial appointment and on the day of the surgery. I asked the optician and the surgeon NOT to explain the full procedure to me so that I would not be put off. They were happy to explain the basics but avoided any gory details. What I was most relieved about was that there were no injections. The surgery was simple, straight forward and over so quickly. It really was no worse than going to the dentist for a filling (less scarey as no high pitched drills!) They even had a stress ball for me to squeeze which gave me something else to focus on. After the surgery I was seen immediately, every thing about post-op care was explained and I went home for a sleep. I woke up 3 hours later and could see perfectly.
