I wished I had had the surgery done years ago before my eyes deteriorated. It would have been nice to have been spec-free rather than simply replacing the ones for distance vision with ones for reading. I do think that not needing spectacles to see things in the distance is by far the better way of seeing though. Ah, the wonders of science....
