I had my surgery at lakeside in essex and it was the best thing i ever did. My prescription was -2.50 in both eyes and i had a astigmatism in my right eye. I had been wearing glasses and contact lenses since i was 18 years of age and im now 47.I decided to have the laser eye surgery when one of my contact lenses caused a ulcer in my left eye which could have made me go blind. I read a few reviews and spoke to people i new who also had the surgery and decided to give it a go. I contacted Optical Express about a consultation and they were very helpful to me. I had the consultation where i was advised of the types of surgery available and the prices. I opted for the wavefront lasek sugery on both my eyes. I was given a information pack which gave me loads of help and advice which included taking a pair of sunglasses with me to wear after my surgery to protect my eyes from the light. The day of my surgery came and i was very nervous but also excited at the thought of what my eyesight would be like after the surgery. The nurse at the front desk was very helpfull and all the other staff were very friendly. The surgery itself took no more then 10 minutes and was painless. After the surgery my eyes did sting for a while but i was given 2 types of eyedrops to use which helped me for the next few weeks. I noticed my eyesight was alot better straight after the surgery and when i went for my checkups i was told my eyesight was better then 20/20 vision.
