I have always been exceptionally squeamish about my eyes and have a particularly strong blink reflex - I haven't been able to wear contact lenses for this reason. As a result, I did find the procedure - whilst short, painless and over very quickly - particularly traumatic. I recognise this won't be the same for everyone. I also worry a little now about the long term risks/effects of this relatively new procedure. That said, the surgery has made a real difference to my life - my vision is much better than the vision that spectacles gave me - I can play sports, go swimming and go out in the rain without having to constantly wipe my glasses. Overall it is great.
