I already informed them through email 5 months back to cancel the service as the property is not in use and empty. They started Charging me £3 standing charges per day without any authorisation. It went up to £4/day without my authorisation. Now they sent a bill of £291 just with standings charges builded up. During this time the meter reading was only showing 1kw and it costs 0.51p. When i Contacted the customer care, I have to deal with an arrogant, dictating customer service staff named Mark (ID 6467). He was shouting at me on the phone. He was not providing me the details and breakdown of bills per month when I requested and told me to go and find it myself. So I am not sure what is his job as customer assistant. I was shocked how I was treated, after reading the reviews here I understand this is an ongoing issue for a lot of people including me. My suggestion to the people reading this is to be careful with opus energy and if possible opt out and move on.
