The 'water and dirt' absorbing mat didn't fit under the door when open (my fault should have thought of that I guess) which meant I couldn't use it lengthwise indoors (for maximum walk-on space. So I put it outside the back door and while our dog likes to lie on it, it does not absorb mud or water from her paws as promoted.
