After being with Petplan for several years. We made a claim for surgery on our dog’s hind legs. Petplan sent as an email informing us that they were adjusting our policy after the claim, which would avoid the payout. Essentially, they suddenly included an exception against the exact surgery our dog had just undergone and retrospectively claimed it to be an existing condition. After further research, this seems to be common practice with Petplan and how it can avoid payouts and maintain its claim to payout over 90% of claims. Avoid this company like the plague.
