The controller is easy to plug in and remove, and buttons/thumb sticks feel good and responsive. I just use this for a mobile game I like so I can't comment on the backbone game hub.
I did have an issue about 6 months in where the cast button would continuously get triggered, making gameplay impossible, but backbone support was quick to handle my warranty claim and I was able to exchange the controller for a new one.
