I have combined the Pod Star pods for the Espressotoria system with an inexpensive electric burr grinder (set to 15 - a Stove Pot Grind) and with trial and error of the grind setting and tamping of the pods now produce an Espresso shot of excellent quality with good crema. I am using an Italian dark roast (9/10 intensity) and use 2 pods for a flat white or cappuccino and one pod for a piccolo. I am extremely satisfied.
