I'm quite surprised at the poor customer service provided by Portmeirion Group. My order took weeks to arrive, and then it was damaged. The representative told me to mail back the items AT MY EXPENSE, and they would do the me the favor of a refund, citing that a sales item is otherwise not refundable. So, if you receive a damaged item and want to return it, shipping and time to do the same is the customer's $$. Whatsmore, they asked me to ship it back in the original box, which is large and costs nearly as much as the item itself. Spode my be considered high end, but the customer service is worse than Walmart's.
