The bags of mortar were stacked on the delivery pallet and wrapped with clingfilm which unfortunately provided very little protection against the transport company operatives' movements and resulted in damage occurring to four of the bags. Three of the bags had sustained only slight damage to their corners, but one bag was completely ripped open along one side. Luckily, I managed to transfer the contents of the ripped bag to another bag and the other bags were patched up with strategically placed duct tape. Unfortunately, I noticed the damage only after I had started to unload the bags into a covered area, so the photograph shows ex post facto. Perhaps some additional protection to the sides of the loaded pallet would have prevented the damage from occurring.
