The bearings were fine. However, the snap ring groove position was not correct for my application. Saab V4 4-speed transmission ('65-'80) rear pinion shaft bearing. Saab #7167570 SKF # 3305 D. The groove on the bearings you sent, were too far outboard which would off set the bearing 1/8" compared to the OEM bearing. The bearing position is critical for proper alignment of the pinion shaft assembly. The snap ring groove on the OEM bearing is approx. .080" wide and the outer edge of the groove is .260" from the side of the bearing. It is a double row with 12 bearings per row with heavy duty cage (1.0" wide, 2.445 OD, .980" ID). The bearing you sent (3305 ANR/C3) has 8 bearings per row, the ring groove outer edge is .130" from the side of the bearing. This gives an offset of .030". Do you have (or can you get) a SKF bearing with the correct snap ring position with 12 bearings per row that I need? Can you supply the bearing I need without the snap ring groove? (I can have a machine shop grind the outer groove into place if needed). Can I exchange the 4 bearings you sent for the correct ones or non-groove ones? Thanks, Kevin Ashcraft, business owner Ashcraft Saab V4 Parts.
