The QUOC mono II might be my new favorite shoe! I have a wider foot (I usually wear Lake Wide and Sworks Wide) and have been relegated to subpar styling when it comes to wide shoes... What's it take for someone to get an ultra clean, minimal, white shoe and have wide feet?! I contacted QUOC to determine how their shoes are made and received this response: "For width, we use a standard E last for all our shoes, while this is considered wide and is commonly used in sports shoes and trainers as well as being a good fit for the majority of riders." Based on that, I decided to try them and much to my surprise they're roomy, comfortable AND insanely good looking.
Since the shoe has such a minimal design (no padding) it gives you the maximum amount of foot room possible in a shoe. As an added bonus, there's ample room towards the heel as well as on your forefoot around the tongue that molds to your foot. I was very impressed with how cleats mated to the sole, its almost like the shoe was designed around a shimano cleat. There's a very large contact patch and the sole is very firm for maximum power transfer. I liked them so much, I purchased another pair. HUGE QUOC fan! If you're on the fence, try them out. You won't be disappointed.
