THIS COMPANY DOES NOT VET/SCREEN ANYONE ON THEIR SITE OR DO ANY DUE DILIGENCE! My elderly grandfather used this site to get a roofer and trusted that due to the name "rated people" and the fact they state that they "screen using Equifax and Action Fraud", that he would find a trusty tradesman... how very wrong he was! After being contacted by a company from the site, he was quoted a very low price and ended up getting scammed out of £7000, for a job that should have cost no more than £1000, and now they have "disappeared". "Rated" People have then said that they take no responsibility for this happening and are just an introductory platform, that is all! After doing a quick google search myself, the owner of said roofing company has been jailed TWICE for scamming elderly people out of thousands... I find it quite concerning that this had never been flagged on their apparent "screening process". Very helpful when trying to contact them, any communication is via email and no one will give us a call to help rectify the problem! I strongly recommended people use other platforms as this is just an advertising platform and that's it!
