AVOID ROMAN AT ALL COSTS!!
Bought several items from Roman and some, but not all required to be returned. The total amount to be returned, £269.00 worth. I followed their instructions online and used their return label along with obtaining the Royal Mail tracking number and sent them back. It was confirmed the items were received by Roman 2 days later. Royal Mail confirmed this.
I had to contact Roman who confirmed they had received the items, however there was a delay in refunds. This was 4 weeks after they had received them. I then had no word 10 days later and again when contacted they confirmed the items had been received and they would be processing the refund soon.
I thereafter received an email stating they could not refund the money unless I produced the purchase receipt for returning said items from the Royal Mail. Something I no longer had as Roman confirmed they had received the items and were sorting the refund.
Roman have said unless they can see proof that I have purchased a recorded delivery return then they will NOT refund the goods. They have said it stated this on their website, which it does, however Roman have confirmed that they have received the items and they have then, but are refusing to refund my money or return the goods to me as I don’t have this receipt.
Royal Mail have confirmed that this is not a policy they are aware of and cannot understand why they cannot refund the goods as they have signed for them at the other end.
Trading Standards have been contacted who are very interested in this Roman policy and believe that this could be classed as theft or fraud of sorts.
Avoid this company!! Absolutely disgusting and I am aware we are not the only people to have or are going through this!!!
