When looking to buy a new 17 inch laptop I wnated one with a 4th gen i5 and a dedicated graphics card, this ensures the fastest available combination without spending a fortune. The toshiba c70-B-10E, is just that model, other makers with this spec are a fair bit more. Nevertheless I wanted more, so changed the HHD hard drive for a 256gb Solid state drive SSD, cost £92 from Amazon, this is a complex job, best undertaken by a computer "doctor" I have a really nice IT man who comes round to our house and does any repair/installation for £30, you must remember that the SSD is blank, so you need to put in a Windows operating system, I put in Windows 7 (so much better than 8) and then all the drivers, all are easy and take little time except the graphics card which took about 45 minutes, the laptop is now stunning, with a boot up from cold in just a few seconds, its even faster than my very expensive Toshiba Portege z830. The design is pretty usual, neat and tidy, nice screen, sound is a bit so-so, but ok, connectivity is good thanks to a good quality wifi (network) card, which you will not find in a cheap laptop, and lastly price, I hunted all over the internet and "Save on Laptops" were £30 cheaper than their nearest competitor, the computor was ordered on Friday, with free shipping and arrived on Tuesday, a first class service...so all in all at £568, this is a great laptop, once you have put in a SSD, ...if you are looking to send £4 to £500 spend that little extra, this is an excellent laptop....Alan
