Honestly, I'm truly disappointed to write this review, as this appears to be a family business which I would love to support and wish well. I bought a wool scarf in our family tartan in September 2024, for my dad's 70th birthday mid-November (Purchased through Shopify). Living overseas, I was sure 8 weeks would be enough time for shipping. The order was confirmed, but tracking never showed it had shipped. I emailed them to follow up 3 times with no replies, before lodging a complaint with Shopify the week before my dad's birthday. Suddenly, it shipped! Still zero word from Scotclans. Upon receiving the scarf (too late for the gift it was intended for) I am incredibly disappointed to say the quality is terrible. It is just cotton, with a hem folded over and stitched. It is NOT a scarf - merely a piece of fabric with a visibly stitched hem. The frayed edges are not finished and will continue to fray until there is no fabric left, just a bunch of strings. There were stray strings left all over the "scarf" from other projects - in colours that were not even on the scarf I ordered. I contacted the shop again and never heard back, until I lodged another formal complaint with Shopify. The next day I had a response from Scotclans assuring me what I received was what I ordered - unbelievable. I have a $70 (incl shipping) piece of cotton fabric that I'm being told is wool. I was told I could send it back to them (at my own cost) to receive a refund for the cost of the scarf. I am so unbelievably disappointed and cannot give it as a gift. I cannot send it back because I would actually be spending more money to do so. And I feel cheated by a company that should have provided clearer details of their product - or just not have deceived their customers, and who won't rectify the problem. Such a shame.
