Scottish Power a company to avoid at all cost. No heart, no care or compassion. Brief details… I own a lot of rental properties, for 3 weeks (March 2020) during the transition between tenants, I was responsible for the energy use, even though none was used as the property was empty. New tenant should of past on any correspondence (they have been warned because they didn’t), difficult time due to national lockdown. Scottish Power made no attempt to tell me there was a small amount outstanding, apart from apparently sending letter to the property address. Once Scottish Power obtained my home address, no correspondence was sent to me, they immediately put an unsettled debt on my credit history meaning I have now been turned down for a mortgage. This shows Scottish Power has no concern in what their actions cause. If they had sent a letter, they would have been paid immediately, I would not have the serious downgrade on my credit history, first ever. I might not have posted this, but when I found out a similar thing happened to a family member, who then received a £50.00 cheque in way of saying sorry from Scottish Power. So, my review of Scottish Power, is to avoid just in case there’s an issue, they will just take the most damaging action against you. I have just seen the 96% of very bad reviews on Trustpilot, not surprised.
