1. They offered me a very competitive dual fuel rate based on my previous usage when with them two years before. I changed to them but when the contract came through they had based their price on 10,000 Kwh less than the figure they had used previously. I cancelled the deal within the cooling off period and got an email confirming the cancellation' I changed to a cheaper supplier.
2 Scottish Power then sent an email saying I had successfully changed my gas supply to them. I rang and confirmed that this was an error (after a very long time on hold). They said it was sorted.
3. The following day they emailed asking for my gas meter reading. I rang again (over an hour wait) to be told that despite its being their error, I would not be able to change to my new dual fuel supplier as any attempt would be blocked. It would take 8 weeks to solve and I would be returned to my previous supplier and charged their variable rate or gas.
4. They had set up a direct debit which I swiftly cancelled. I also emailed my new proposed supplier telling them of the problem. I await weeks of chaos.
Scottish Power are without any doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would give them no stars at all if possible. Avoid them at all costs.
