Moved out of my flat and gave meter readings and to close account. Was told this account would be closed and a final billing sent to me. Nothing.
Phoned 2 months later to be told my account was in debt and I must pay £x to close the account. Done this and was assured it was closed.
Checked credit score - account still open. Phoned again. Told my account was in credit - need to send me a cheque to refund credit before closing account. Nothing through the post.
Phoned again. Forgot to send this out. 1 month later was reimbursed.
Got a second letter in the post to say accounts were finalised and closed.
3 months later - foreign call centre hounding me 4-5 times a day to pay my ‘debt’. Thought it was a scam because the nature of the call and how I was contacted was so shoddy and didn’t have any of my new details. Phoned SP to check this was a scam - to be told no and I’ll HAVE to pay this. All very aggressive, pushy, no explanations given and the complaints team were dismissive of the fact that they had made the mistake, not me, and did not take in to account how awful the whole handling of this process from start to finish has been and totally disregarded my complaint of harassment.
