We toured Tuscany last fall from our base in Viareggio. Most impressive were our many guides, particularly the fellow in Lucca but all very good. The food at the Hotel President was great once or twice but so-so more often than not, and optional upgraded wine would have been welcomed. In hindsight, we'd have been happier with shorter tours, particularly in Florence, as exhaustion was an issue. Also, terrible leaving as early as we did to get to the airport, with a long, long wait before our flight and many of us fighting a flu bug.
