Have had a Sheltapod for nearly 2 years now and used it a lot. Easy to attach to the van, but you do need to look at the ground before you pitch it to make sure it pitches symetrically; sometimes the terrain forces running the guys differently to maintain its shape. Stands up well in high wind and rain and has not leaked. We regularly drive away from it, just need well placed tent pegs to re-align the van to reconnect on return. We like the fact that there is a space between the tent and the van; we have a dog and this provides sufficient space for her to move around a bit. Also keeps cooking smells away from the van. Have looked at lots of other drive away awnings, but to date have not found anything better!
