I had the 1st gen SE for 5 years and the battery was dead, so I was thinking about getting a new one. But I'm glad I waited for the 3rd gen SE to come out. It's got the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 and even the upcoming iPhone 14, so it's super fast and future-proof. Apps open right away and the 4g and 5g speeds are just as good as wifi (depending on the signal, of course). The battery life is amazing too. I can use it all day and still have 60% left the next morning. The screen is a bit small and old-fashioned with the bezels, but it's good enough for my needs. If you need a big screen for work or gaming, this phone isn't for you. But if you want a pocket-sized phone, the screen is sharp and works well in most lighting conditions. It also has a home button and Touch ID, which I prefer over Face ID. The camera is pretty good too. The main one takes great photos and videos, but the front one isn't as good. I got mine from ShopiOSx and they have cheaper prices then other stores, but they give you a 2-year warranty and a 100 day satisfaction guarantee, which is awesome value for money.
