Ten minutes on the phone yielded two ideas for making my f008 Macbook Pro work faster (rather than two lots of 40 minutes to Apple help which didn't provide any answers), then half an hour in the shop got one of them done and working with the other planned for when I can leave it there for a couple of hours - thank you for helping me fight against inbuilt obsolescence!
