Very concerned to see the reviews posted here. As I have attempted to purchase 4 different times with Smyths books, every time with an email (similar to others - see Trustpilot's reviews which are only 1's by 100's of customers). Shortly after my orders I had 2 different bank cards being cancelled due to fraud transactions that followed. This is consistent with most of the other customers's experiences as detailed on Trustpilot. I would strongly recommend to avoid and report.
Here are some of the emails sent to me:
Unfortunately our suppliers have contacted us and informed us that upon pre-shipment inspection your has been damaged. Our suppliers have confirmed the earliest delivery of new stock for the . Once received we can dispatch that day on a next day service for .
If you are able to wait until this date I can preserve your current order or cancel it.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding in this matter.
