I recently attended a fashion photo shoot at Soho Fashion Studios, after replying to an advert on Instagram for mature people interested in modeling. I was contacted within a week and a session booked at thier London studios. A £50 refundable deposit was asked for, just to guarantee my attendance, which I thought was fair. This was back on my card within 3days. I was travelling from Leeds for the shoot and found the instructions and directions sent easy to follow and got there in good time. The team of make up artists and photographers were so helpful and supportive and the stylist was really good at creating looks from the range of clothes I had brought, matching together tops and bottoms I wouldn't have thought of myself! Three were a few other people there, so there was a bit of waiting about, but I they had warned me of this and I had brought a book! But there was so much going on, I hardly had it open! The session was about 3-4 hours and involved shots taken inside and outside the studio building. I thought I would have been abit nervous, as the surrounding streets were a bit busy, but Elaina, my photographer, really put me at ease and I had so much fun. With my make up done and the styling, l felt a million dollars! There is an option at the end to have a look through the photos and if selected, they think you have talent, the option to pay for their services. For the studio to turn the pictures into a portfolio, for them to offer to agencies for possible modeling work. To be honest it is quite a lot of money to find up front and I was offered installment payments, but if you can and modelling is something you really want to do, it could work for you.
