Terrible Experience with Space NK
I usually avoid posting about bad experiences, but my recent ordeal with Space NK has been so upsetting that I feel the need to share.
On 2ND October, I placed an order with them for two Christmas gifts (Order No. WK29047430). As someone with serious health issues and limited mobility, I rely on others for help, so I carefully planned everything to ensure the gifts would arrive on time. On the 8th of Oct I received an email to inform me that one of the products was out of stock. I was really upset and called the customer service, to inquire why it took them 6 days to inform me that the product was out of stock as now I will have to make other arrangements, and I was running out of time. They just dint care. They inquired with me if I wanted to continue with the order once its becomes available and I confirmed that I would like to cancel it immediately as it was no good to me at a later day. I was now concerned about the other product and they said it would take another 3 to 5 days for delivery. I was very upset and emotional at this as I knew it would not come in time and that I would have nothing to take with me; as I reckoned it would not arrive in time; I requested them to cancel the whole order but they told me NO. As it was already placed. I was hysterical and shameful to admit I was crying. They just said they could not help at all. I was the only person who came there with nothing as the order never came to me in time and I felt so embarrassed. I also told them that I could not do anything with the products as they are very harmful for me due to my health complications. Unfortunately, it’s been a disaster from start to finish:
1 It took them SIX DAYS to inform me that one product was out of stock, leaving me no time to make alternate arrangements. When I called their customer service, they didn’t seem to care at all. I asked to cancel the entire order since the second product wouldn't arrive in time, but they refused.
2. Despite explaining my mobility challenges, they were dismissive and unhelpful, telling me I could "just return it" when it arrived—completely ignoring how difficult that would be for me.
3️. Unfortunately, on the 17th of December I had a serious infection as was admitted at the hospital and discharged only on the 4th of December and they inexplicably charged me AGAIN and sent the product I had already cancelled! I was recovering from a serious infection and hospital stay, only to come home and deal with this additional stress.
Their customer service has been appalling—no empathy, no accountability, and no follow-through. Even after requesting a manager to call me back, I’ve heard nothing.
Now I’m stuck with two unwanted products, out of pocket, and overwhelmed by the whole situation. I’ll NEVER order from Space NK again and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
I would NEVER NEVER AGAIN ORDER FROM SPACE NK or RECOMMEND ANY ONE TO DO AS AS WELL. The mental stress and embarrassment they have put me through is shameful. I am even so emotional writing this.
