*STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS** (LITERALLY!! THEY ARE FRAUDULENTLY OVER CHARGING FOR THEIR DRINKS AND DON'T SAY I NEVER WARNED YOU!) I am a regular at this location, and this morning, Tues., Nov. 22nd, 2022, when I drove thru the line and ordered my usual Venti caramel macchiato and was given my total of $5.65 at the window, I proceeded to go to the pick up window and the first thing I asked the heavy set gray haired guy at the window was to confirm my drink price. He replied, "$5.65." I asked, "when did the prices go up?" He quickly replied, "3 weeks ago." Then when I showed him on my phone another location I visit on the weekends in Yorba Linda (I simulated a mobile order), the price for the exact same drink showed $5.45. Later I also simulated another mobile order in Irvine at the Los Olivos Market Place, very close to where I work, and that location also shows a price of $5.45. This is a very nice area of Irvine, by the way, nothing at all like this location at 2734 Tustin Ave., Orange. The guy at the window gives me several explanations of why THEIR price is 20 cents higher for the exact same drink: first he says, "prices went up 3 weeks ago"; then he tells me, "prices vary depending on what area of Starbucks you're at"; then he tells me, "the app hasn't updated the correct pricing yet"; then he tells me, "their location has taxes." What????? Which excuse should I believe?? I am a regular, and just earlier this week, for the exact same drink, I was charged the correct price of $5.45 for a Venti (so this location's prices didn't go up 3 weeks ago!) I proceeded to accept my drink, told him I would not be returning to this location, and as I drove away, I immediately called Starbucks Customer Service. The guy who answered patiently listened to everything I had to share w/ him. He CONFIRMED the Venti caramel macchiato price should be $5.45! I am now waiting for their District Manager to call me w/ in 24-48 hours, as the Customer Service rep sent an email to this location on my behalf, stating my complaint. I also was credited $10 back to my Starbucks card for my ordeal. I also will be writing to the BBB to also complain about this location's ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES by RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS BY OVER CHARGING THEM! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS - LITERALLY!!
