Returned an online purchase in store and opted to replace it with a garment from the store. The garment colour however wasn’t quite as it was in the dark store ambience so once I tried it I decided it wasn’t good enough to spend £400 on. Upon returning it to the store I was informed that I’m not eligible for a refund given that I had done the exchange in store, only for store credit which is valid for 18 months.
This is pretty poor given this was not mentioned to me by the sale assistant at the time of the exchange. Had they mentioned it I would have opted for a refund which would give me the option to keep my money and instead I got swindled into rewarding Stone Island with £400 for their poor customer service. Deeply disappointing for a regular client. I will not be shopping at the physical store again. This is short sighted given how expensive real estate and staff are these days.
