I was running 5-6 miles with normal athletic socks. I had no problems. As soon as I progressed up to 7, then 8, and beyond, i began getting a big blister on my foot. That's when i researched and learned about swiftwick and ordered a couple pairs. I began wearing these, and my blister dried up - even with the continued training! I love my swiftwicks.
