My new favorite sock!! I am extremely picky about socks. I have wide feet with a flattened arch and a high instep. When I look for a sock it needs to have the following requirements: 1. Soft, fine knit for my sensitive feet 2. Not too big-I do not want extra material pushing out above my heal 3. Not too small-it’s a really bummer to have socks that quit on you-meaning that they slip down your heel and binder your foot 4. They must be breathable and stay dry-these socks do that 5. They must not get a hole through the big toe in the first month. I have spent big money on Balega socks in the past and they had holes in the toes after one or two wears. This was hugely disappointing as you can imagine 6. My go-to sock for many years has been smartwool because they last forever, but the short sock sizing is not ideal for me. I am a size 9.5, so sometimes the ankle socks run a bit small and is I size up to L they are a bit large. I love that my size falls in the middle of the range with the Swiftwick. 7. The compression around the arch is a bonus for me as I have joint hypermobility syndrome and my feet have really flattened out as I’ve gotten older (I’m 50 now). I would classify the compression as gentle. I can definitely feel it but it does not feel as if it squeezes my foot.
