Very difficult to contact and also to speak to someone who actually understands insurance.
The person I spoke to was uncooperative and very bland, when I asked her why Swindon would not renew my Home Insurance after 19 years, she didn’t know!
I had very little notice about 17 days, your letter didn’t arrive until much later than the given date.
Upon investigations with ABI and other such bodies it would appear that because we live in a 400 year old Grade 2 house, many companies are employing various terms and conditions and some are reluctant to insure these properties. In my wildest dreams I cannot imagine that since Swindon renewed my policy last year they didn’t know that what would happen this year. Normal Insurance etiquette would have been to have let us know this earlier.
