We booked a two double bedroom bungalow Coolnaharragill Lower Annexe in Glenbeigh, Co. Kerry in July 2022. The property was disappointing and the advertising and photographs posted by Sykes was misleading. The bungalow was situated on a busy main road directly behind a larger bungalow and backing onto an overgrown and unsightly grass bank. The two showers could not be used simultaneously, there was only one two seater settee, the Smart TV could only be used by guests with a Netflix account, there were no patio doors to the so-called patio area, the toaster did not work, 2 plug sockets were loose, the main bedroom door sticks, the shower room floors flood, and the hot water is difficult to regulate. The owner tries to dissuade guests from using hot water and the washing machine. We were told that we were not on holiday to wash clothes or watch TV. Sykes Cottages couldn’t have cared less and accepted no liability for the misleading advertising of the property compiled by them. We were pushed from pillar to post by more than 6 different advisers and never spoke to the same adviser twice. The best advice they could offer was for us to sue the owner of the property via the Small Claims Court. Sykes Customer Services is useless. They are clueless, don’t know anything and frankly don’t care.
